Karen Beattie, Pilates Instructor at Mindful Movement, has expertise in Pilates that has been formed by over 20 years of teaching the Pilates Method to a wide range of clientele, from acute rehabilitation through to advanced, sports specific and performing artists programming.   Karen initially undertook a Pilates apprenticeship style training in 1992 with the late and great Megan Williams.   She also undertook the Body Arts & Science International (BASI) training with Rael Isacowitz.

Karen is a Trainer Level Practitioner with the Pilates Alliance Australasia (PAA), was one of the founding committee members and served a short stint as President of the PAA.

A vocational training consultant, Karen has consulted on Pilates training and course accreditation matters.  She was the former Training Manager for Pilates International Training Centre (PITC), and worked closely with the Director, Sally Anderson, for PITC to become the first government approved Pilates training organisation in Australia.

From her years as a professional creative movement educator, Karen’s Pilates teaching style is influenced by Laban Movement Analysis (LMA), as well as the  many aspects of Yoga, breath work and Eastern philosophies.
