Certification in Pilates for Rehabilitation (Polestar Pilates)

Debbie worked as a Chartered Physiotherapist in both the private and public health sectors in the UK.  Debbie also has extensive massage therapy skills and qualifications, establishing her own private sports and therapeutic massage clinic in 2000, and a physiotherapy clinic in 2009. She has also worked as a lecturer in massage and soft tissue treatment at Colleges of Further Education in the UK.

Debbie’s Pilates journey started following the birth of her second child after she participated in a post-natal Pilates Matwork class.  She quickly realised the benefits of the Pilates method so trained as a Certified Matwork Instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute (APPI) in 2009.   She enjoys the theoretical aspect of Pilates and supports its underlying principles.  Debbie loves the versatility that Pilates offers and how it can be adapted to meet the needs of the individual.  She enjoys working with a broad spectrum of clients using Pilates as an integral part of rehabilitation, and also as a means to challenge fitness and performance goals.

Debbie continues to embrace the Pilates method and her love of learning. After moving to Australia, she completed Certification in Pilates for Rehabilitation with Polestar Pilates in 2013. Her positive, encouraging nature, coupled with genuine compassion for her clients helps to facilitate positive changes in their well-being and help them work towards their personal goals.
